About The Artwork
In this new painting Zsuzsa Szvath has placed two concrete windows floating in the air. Orange clouds all around and the horizon is vertical rather than horizontal. Possibly the windows are concrete pools filled with water in which the clouds are reflected. A girl floats/swims in one of the windows and looks at us. Here Zsuzsa Szvath has created a surreal world with figural, geometric and abstract elements. So far, the artist has concentrated on urban themes. With this series, she now goes into nature, with one or at most two characters who find themselves in a constantly new, surreal world.
