About The Artwork

Whit this painting I'm trying to represent the desire of freedom common to all animals, and the right of all of us to be free. Bird is one of the symbol of this concept (freedom) and he is also one of the animals to whom this right is incomprehensibly denied, locking him in cages and preventing him from flying towards "the highest flowers" and be free. "The Highest Flowers" rapresent our goals, our desires, our dreams, our being: things that we can achieve only when we are free. The vivid and vibrant hues that I utilized serve to convey the joy and brightness that the concept of freedom convays. The painting is realized in a recycled canvas, with acrylic paints, acrylic spray paints, crayons, pastels and collage of paper partly recycled from cardboards.

I'm an Italian based artist, born in 1993, working under my artist name "Brina". My main muses and subjects are non-human animals, their emotions and their individuality that I try to show in my paintings, along with the possibility of a peaceful relationship with them. Then there are my women portraits, full of colorful emotion that pretty frequently are the transposition of my own emotions and feelings. Last but not least, another source of inspiration is certainly nature in general and our relationship with it, often represented by me in a symbiotic, harmonious, peaceful and respectful way, as it would be in an ideal world. I express the various emotions of animals and women and this ideal relationship with nature, using bright colours and bold and loose brushstrokes, typical of the impressionist and expressionist that inspire me the most. An important part of my artwork are their titles, which often translate and exemplify the message conveyed by the painting. Speaking of mediums and materials, my first love is watercolor, but then I embarked on a solid and lasting relationship with acrylics, currently my principal medium, but I also don't disdain from using oil and mixed media techniques. I paint mostly on canvases (often recycled) and paper. Some of my paintings have been acquired by private collectors in Germany, Lithuania, Belgium and, of course, Italy.
