About The Artwork
I love painting nature, but for my more abstract works, I love to be inspired by music. In this case it was the song 'Fearless' by Pink Floyd, which talks about how some people do things in their own way, and when the time is right for them. The music helped me explore the process of creating an imaginary landscape, which became symbolic of the song's meaning. Many different techniques were explored, from printing with leaves and other objects, to layers of thicker and thinner paint, splatterings, expressive mark-making, or just glazes. The first layer was an abstract one, created with watercolour crayons.
