It's quite an ironic painting: I've always quite enjoyed my wine, especially the red one, but during brest feeding mothers can't really drink. at the same time it's really then that they feel tired and would need to relax. As most mothers I was often alone when children were very young and always very tired. That's why I decided to paint this portrait, starting from my own feelings as I often do but aiming to find a connection with the viewr's experiences or with his/her inner feelings. I painted looking at me in the mirror at the very beginning and then just starting to rework it without looking at me: I didn' want it to be a self portrait but rather just a woman drinking her baby's bottle. It's an oil painting on canvas. I mostly use oil paint, even if my latest works are drawing on paper. Oil paint is smooth and I love its smell. It's a grate meduim.

I'm an italian artist based in Venice. I'm very interested in the way art is intwined with real life, becoming the trace of our own emotional being. I see art as a mirror reflecting our inner insight, and I use it as a travel journal. My main way of expression is painting. I usually like to use oil paint on canvas. I’ve started to add embroidery on my canvases as well, finding the visual effect quite interesting and enjoy very much the act of embroidery itself: it is a slow process and my thoughts manage to slow down with it. It is quite like a meditation for me. I also very much like collage. I enjoy creating a surface to allow the eyes to move around: our real world is made of things being there quite by chance, but with their own harmony and I seek to represent this by the collage technique.
