About The Artwork
Completed shortly before a 10 month residency in a Franciscan Convent, this painting playfully explores the nature of duality and creativity. The dynamics between male and female; light and dark; material and immaterial; you and me; all indicative of the creative forces and rhythms of life at work around and within us. The painting was influential in devising the exhibition DODECAD, commissioned by L'Eglise Saint Merry, Paris in 2015 which was shown again in the UK in 2017.
