IRA (2022) - Oil and spray on canvas. This work is part of the series dedicated to the deadly sins and represents anger. A furious Donald Duck inveighs against his nephews Qui, Quo and Qua who smear a wall painting it with the words “I Love Art”. Donald Duck represents all those who still do not love street art and graffiti, considering it a minor art if not pure vandalism. Yet artists like Banksy have become superstars of the art world. Another level of interpretation of the work concerns the "childish" character of each artist. Here, Quo Qua represents the childish soul, brazen and ready to subvert every ordinary rule, which every artist finds himself within himself. The artist is a sensitive spirit who marvels at little things like children do. The work is also a tribute to the rediscovery of the "child", described by the poet Pascoli, and to the desire to create a world dominated by art and not by war which, unfortunately, is rampant on the planet. Are they just comics ?? !!
