Laura Cao currently creates and lives in Brisbane, Australia. After earning her BA from Henan university, she later received a post graduate qualification in Graphic Design while living in New Zealand. With over 15 years away from her native land of China, she is experiencing the trend of cultures merging in the world, also the conflict, differences and similarities between cultures. Her inspiration comes from people. Their variety of cultures, her own experiences and feelings created by observations from daily life, influence her work. Her abstract and figurative paintings combine oil paint and ink, showcasing colourful impressionism with Chinese calligraphy. Laura also experiments with new materials to express her alternate views between cultures, the world, the passage of time and unique individuals.
