About The Artwork
The joys of Ima and her Hippopotamus. The world is your happiest place when you have your best friend by your side! I painted a collection of whimsical children from years ago when my children were itty bitty (now grown and on their own!). Their sweet faces and curiosity inspired me, and in turn I created pieces that celebrated their pureness and wonder and those simple delights. My hope was to bring my children joy with my pictures and stories, create memories-- and uplift everyone who viewed them. This painting was part of my solo show "Joule Parade" in Del Mar, California. This piece is also the very first painting I did in this series. She was so delightful and optimistic that I had to come up with more! Acrylic on heavyweight paper.
