About The Artwork
The Latin palindrome translates, loosely, as "we enter the circle after dark, and are consumed by fire". It struck me as a methaphor of life: we enter this world, get consumed by fire, and - palindrome-like - going back to be reborn. Oil paints allow for very subtle variations of tones, never to be repeated again, and yet we try.
