About The Artwork

Through his work in various media, such as sculpture, painting and installation, David Rosado investigates the norms of identity and culture in modern society. The artist struggles with bits of present-day life, painting on the paradoxical screens of childhood and subliminal overlays in the created environments. This juxtaposition of materials and contexts that David Rosado addresses, reinforce contemporary issues of social stratification a thoughtful and direct way of making us travel to a remote time where everything was simpler. Layer after layer exposes a whole truth in the space of transition between the "do" and the way of facing the painting, transposing concepts as a "handmade" pictorial work and object of luxury. The creation of this site-specific artist shows us clippings of images that abound in a universe of our growth as beings and that remain as scars on the skin linking us to the graphic references that it has as it presents the screens of the series Big-ly , smiling inflatable animals gracefully falling on acrylic enamel canvases painted in raw cloth, almost like an accentuation of a certain character in each series of works, that is a transposition of a Paradiddle in the pictorial analogy. The general conception is based on the construction of this process, which passes through arbitrary choices at first, disconnected from each other because not determined, that little by little establish combinations, a potential order that emerges from successive additions and a constant reequation of the global set , through the erasure and overlapping, in a renewed and attentive look at the urban street culture, seeking in this way its own space and framing in the artistic creation, through a classic genre like painting, that transposes surfaces and continues reinforcing the idea that all contributes to a globally accurate set.
