About The Artwork
I think I am actually a watercolor artist, but I grew up doing oils. Acrylic became the obvious next step and I tried to paint here what I usually do in watercolor (see portfolio). A composition in thirds with cold colours balanced with som red and gold colours. The lines give a dynamic quality to the painting with a suggestion of butterfly wings transparency.

I am an practicing architect with my wife- SM!T ARCHITECTS (www.smitarchitects.co.za) I am also a professor in architecture- teaching masters students in architecture, University of the Free State, South Africa. However, I've been drawing and painting since childwood and do it as a hobby today. Inspiration is mainly derived from the natural landscape as well as character studies. Similar to architectural investigations, I like exploring abstract forms and experiments.
