About The Artwork
This is a sculptural painting made with a very flexible and durable matte acrylic called Ultralight that is pigmented and piped through a pastry bag. The title is Ingress, as opposed to egress, which refers to an entry point to inner peace. This painting was made during the pandemic and was inspired by an essay written by Arundhati Roy titled "The Pandemic is a Portal". Ingress was recently exhibited in a show titled "Phantom Bodies" curated by Audra Lambert and has D rings mounted on the back for hanging.
