WHAT I WANTED TO SAY

"Innerbloom" is a portrait of my younger sister Elizabeth. She seems moody, daydreaming, and expressing relaxation in this painiting.

This is the one painting from my “ Blossom Rain “ series, which consists of floral portraits with elements such as femininity, lightness, and serene atmosphere. These paintings are less about a specific narrative and more about moods and sensations associated with the various characters I depict. I love painting women; there is something about the feminine spirit that generates a lifetime of ideas and imagery for me.

I make a strong effort to blend direct observation with imagination when I create a painting. I try to start with reality but bring it into my own inner world with the process. The paintings oscillate between a fantasy floral world and the real world, and there’s a blurry line between the two. You get the sense that the characters and the story are really happy, you feel that positive vibes from almost all artworks in this collection.

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

I think the modern world requires more beauty, happiness, and peace. I consider my mission as an artist is to carry these ideas to the masses through my art in this series.

My art is about beauty and skills. I stand for changing the art world where are professionals, who slave away for hours every day in front of their canvases. And I'm against the modern idea that everything can be art. Because that cheapens the whole art world and cheapens the dedication and the will to learn that true artists have.

MY PROCESS

I use metallic leaf and paint in a special way in my paintings. It reflects light in just the right way to play with the threshold between two and three dimensions helping viewers pass from a world where they are to a dreamy, floral world.

Painting with metallic paint does have challenges.

First, the pigments that are used can be a bit tricky to apply smoothly. If painted back and forth, the brush winds up laying down those pigments in different directions, which means they will reflect light in opposite directions. This causes streaks in painting! So, for smooth, solid coverage, I apply the paint in one direction only. Also, it’s easy to go overboard with the metallics and create a finish that looks more outlandish than elegant!

Despite all this challenges and uding my experience working with this materials, I created an amazing painting which looks stunning in real life!. Artwork will be packed with a certificate of authenticity. All paintings are painted to the edge and vanished for protection. Ready to hang.

Art has been Anna's passion ever since she was a child growing up in Ukraine. Anna studied art at Kyiv art academy and got her art degree at De Anza College in California, US. Over the years Anna had her work featured in a number of publications, exhibitions, and charity auctions. Currently, Anna works with floral motifs. "In the process of creating my works, I use different techniques and materials: acrylic for impasto strokes, oil bars for clear lines, sprays, and charcoal for a weightless effect. Mix media allows me to make my compositions airy and dynamic, like a thin and sophisticated veil on the wind. However, most of these marks are random. These streaks are like frozen moments. I try to control the process less. Less to interfere with the organic process of mixing materials on the canvas. I try to keep more of those honest things in there. As an artist, I try to keep my painting as light as possible and just steer the process in one direction or another and let randomness and gravity do their job. The essence of my work is to explore the beauty that is present in the flower world. Observation of nature and its harmony is my main inspiration. My goal is to take in what draws me and bring it back to the canvas via my own voice"
