INNOCENCE - # XV - Painting

This painting is a tribute of Lee Jeffries photographer. lNNOCENCE Series I originally consisted of 17 oil paintings on canvas. Cortona mainly uses only primary colors, he likes to create for himself the hue with which he needs to arrive at the goal by experimenting through the nuances that the individual color itself possesses. In this first series, we see how the framing of the subjects is depicted partially whole, later Cortona 'enters' the subject, their emotions that become one with the artist herself, and gradually the space of the canvas and the subject decreases going deeper and deeper, always keeping the focus on their gaze. This transformation is visible in the later series II and III. Cortona experiences an introspective, spiritual journey; in art, in INNOCENCE, it leads her to focus only on the gaze, shifting the framing to the expressiveness of the child by focusing on their eyes,that is,the visible nest of the inner light that resides in every individual,with which through the use of photo-luminescent pigments,she wants to emanate and remind that the Inner Light is omnipresent,even in the dark. The use of photo-luminescent pigments, pigments of natural origin that have the ability to recharge themselves through a source of light, and then self-illuminate in the dark, for the artist this pigment has become a main use and means of inspiration for many other works. The INNOCENCE collection is therefore, An invitation to turn inward, to carefully and sensitively seek one's Inner Self through the eyes of the most innocent, to rediscover that we are Intelligent Souls, made of Love and headed toward the great Freedom of Being.
