"Intercoastal Glow" is a captivating acrylic painting that measures 18x36 inches. This vibrant piece captures the serene beauty of a dusk scene over the intercoastal waterway. The enchanting pink glow that permeates the artwork creates a tranquil and dreamy atmosphere, amplified by the presence of pelicans gracefully flying over the river. Delicate highlights on the water subtly sparkle, adding an extra layer of magic to the scene. One of the standout features of "Intercoastal Glow" is the technique used to achieve its luminous quality. The artist meticulously applied many layers of color and glazes, each built upon the last to enhance the depth and radiance of the landscape. This meticulous process enriches the viewer's experience, inviting them to lose themselves in the mesmerizing hues and fluid forms. Inspired by the artist's close proximity to the intercoastal waterway, this painting beautifully encapsulates the tranquil yet dynamic nature of coastal living. The ever-changing light and movement are gracefully captured in the medium of acrylic, making "Intercoastal Glow" not just a visual delight, but also an emotional journey through a beloved natural setting.

“As an artist, I strive to continually grow and experiment with different techniques and mediums. I have spent most of my careers as an art director and graphic designer (30 years), professional photographer (15 years) and for the last decade, painter. Composition, creative problem solving and working with deadlines became ingrained after three decades as a designer. I hold a BS degree in fine & applied arts from San Diego State University. Having these experiences have affected how my photographic images are framed in the camera and on canvas, my understanding of light on objects from directing studio photographers and exploring the possibilities of artistic post production. I find that tinting, adding layers & borders, and digital painting made a unique statement. In my paintings now, the wealth of experiences have shaped how I approach a canvas and work through the stages of analyzing, experimenting, and creating . The challenges of painting have given me a passion about creating that I intend to continue as long as I can. Sailing and exploring the ocean was a big part of my early years in California. Hence, most of my paintings are related to ocean and beach landscapes. My seascapes, tropical scenes, underwater landscapes, mermaids, and abstract paintings are directly the result from my love of the sea. In my freestanding art studio at home, I listen to music, study and work on my canvases without technology interferring. It is a very joyful place where I am free to create from my imagination and also a good diversion from the technology of my photographic business. I feel so fortunate to be making a living doing what I love. ”
