About The Artwork
The artwork Interposed has been inspired by living on the coast and the constant changing light upon the sea which is a constant inspiration within my paintings. The art within the work is found in many layers of fine colours created by a small palette knife taking months to complete in intricate detail. Weeks are spent in observation, photographing and sketching until paint is finally laid onto canvas and the painting emerges, capturing both movement and light. The surface is in a constant shimmering state of flux and multifaceted colours. Sold without a frame although if requested I can order for an additional cost.

I am a Brighton based contemporary artist, constantly inspired by the ever changing sea and the stunning South Downs. In 2022 I exhibited and sold work in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 22. I have also just been selected to exhibit at Londons prestigious Mall Gallery from Nov 17-26 ‘23. I spend hours making observational sketches and photos that results in an intense emotional study of light and texture. Prior to becoming a full time artist I had a long career in fashion and textile design. I ran a large London design studio producing garments for all of the major high street companies.
