Interwoven Painting

I'm Julie Chi, a painter, color enthusiast, nurse and mom of two lovely children. My personal life journey has pulled me closer to painting to calm the mind and heal my heart. And to my own surprise, this new relationship with art has unfolded much potential and invited me to a deeper exploration of this exciting world of painting. Painting flowers, nature and their interaction with human life causes me to first observe them closely to notice their textures and understand their unique forms, then interpret them with my own curious eyes. And my expressive brushstrokes and bold colors are the results of this endless fascination with nature. Spontaneity, wildness, freedom, rhythm, vibrancy… It’s a little bit of all those things that weave into my semi-abstract painting style- the style that conforms to certain structures and, at the same time, allows great creative liberty. My goal is to create artwork that is inspiring and uplifting, and thus infuses this spirit of joy and optimism to those who invite my art into their space.
