About The Artwork

“Introspection”, 2003, acrylic – mixed media 'The philosophy of the wisest man that ever existed, is mainly derived from the act of introspection.' -- W. Godwin Dualism of an introspective mind... This surreal painting delves into the depths of the introspective mind, exploring the dualism that exists within us all. Upon closer examination, you'll notice that the image portrays two faces of the same person, gazing directly at each other as they intertwine to form a single entity. This thought-provoking composition suggests the inherent contradictions that are present within the human psyche.

Hi, I'm Gianni A. Sarcone, an experienced interdisciplinary artist and author who has been developing new visual concepts and showcasing my work for over two decades. My ultimate goal is to spark wonder in my audience. Growing up in a family of artists, I've been surrounded by colors and visual experiences my entire life. I find inspiration in everything I see, read, or touch, whether it's a movie, newspaper, or even while cooking. I always carry a pocket notebook to capture these ideas, as I believe ideas are the foundation of my art. I'm a cross-disciplinary artist skilled in various mediums and tools, but the final impact is what's most important to me. I am recognized as a leading authority on visual perception, specializing in Kinoptic art which, through playing with our optic nerves, creates illusions of colors, dimensions, and motion. Using a palette of elements such as blank spaces, XOR and negative spaces, geometric textures, space tiling, and patterns, I aim for maximum visual impact with minimal intervention. Precision is key in my creative process, as even the slightest change can significantly modify the visual effect.
