This painting "Invisible Man" has been on a journey of change. Initially I was looking to paint a figure, in a very loose abstract way. I wanted the presence of a person to stand front and centre in the painting.
As the painting progressed, it came and went, covered by swathes of painting, expressive drawn marks, and dense colour.
I loved how it appeared and disappeared, until it it felt that it was in the perfect state floating between these two states of being.
Hence the title the Invisible Man...a figure that is somehow there and yet not there.
The painting has a beautiful palette of soft gentle colours & hues, that soothes and stimulates the viewer.
The painting is painted on a deep 4cm canvas, so can be hung directly onto the wall using the hooks & wire fitted on the back. There is a sturdy crossbar supporting the stretcher, that makes it a strong well constructed canvas.

Ele Pack received her degree from Loughborough College of Art. She now lives and works in Brighton. UK. She has work in private collections in Canada, the US, Japan and Europe. She has exhibited her paintings both nationally, and internationally. Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US. "I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform. Using pattern and mark to create rhythm, I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. This creates glimpses, hidden spaces, things half_ shown, suggested. I use delicate layers of texture, drawing and colour to create an ambiguous space. The image is then worked and re_worked until the image is “found”. Only when a balance and integration is achieved I feel that the painting is finished. I like to think of them as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed. "
