Iron Stream / Fracture XVII Painting

The smallest art work from my fracture series which looks at our senses and levels of information in the universe. These pieces are created using a process based technique which builds up in layers from soft and chaotic to sharp and opaque. The work is created on plaster and is wall mounted with wooden supports to bring the piece slightly off the wall. I desired to create a piece with a far simpler palette concentrating on large uses of the triangle form in opaque medium cadmium red. The monochrome areas give emphasis to this and the scattering of smaller pink forms allow a bridge for the eye between the colourful and colourless. Again the green is allowed to come through from the original surface and gives continuity across these recent editions to the series, exhibited as part of 'Surface Tension' at Bloom Gallery Valencia.
