About The Artwork
My mentor, Marilyn Bendell, lived in Nambe, New Mexico. To take breaks from painting, we would go to the local pueblos, to take in the colors, the culture, and get ideas to incorporate in our artwork. This beautiful girl was a wonder to behold, dressed in traditional costume, dancing at one of the festivals. This is done with oil paints, using impasto brushwork on heavy duty canvas. The frame is high quality, silver patina with some bronze touches to emphasize the deep black in the dress. Ready to hang.
