About The Artwork
An Ice Fortress exists in a world beyond our own. Perhaps, it is imagination that brings this beautiful place to me. Some may call it fantasy but my visions are clear and detailed as though it was being looked at through a clean glass window. I will share the light and love I see in this series of paintings. The Enchanting Ice Fortress is home to the Ice King and Queen. Sitting on the highest peak, it is draped by a colorful aurora, created by a neighboring blue star. Shades of indigo, violet, pink and blue illuminates this world. The light that radiates from the star is soft and gentle, making this an eternal winter wonderland. Carved from an ancient formation of ice, The Enchanted Ice Fortress is embedded into the peak of the mountain. Beneath the ice lies a massive field of crystals. These crystals create a welcoming pink glow that can be seen from many miles away; they are used for energy, healing and posses mystical properties. In this setting, a young couple make their journey to The Enchanted Ice Fortress. Much wonder and excitement fills the air. The Ice King and Queen have announced a special event to share with their royal citizens...

Since childhood, I've been intrigued and fascinated by the wonders of nature as well as the starry night sky. Often times, I found myself gazing upon their mesmerizing glitter and beauty. Imagination was the only way of understanding the vastness of things above and around me. Still, the way I saw the world within came to light beyond reality. My attempts to recreate the inner visions using color pencils, crayons, and pastel were often applauded by teachers and peers; however, I felt limited as to how much could be expressed with these mediums. At age thirteen, I picked up the brush, blank canvases became windows to emotion, vivid colors and the conscious beauty I experience. The works of my late father, a school teacher and artist, also aspired my journey in art. Large scale murals at Orange County Public Schools has been my way of inspiring the young. Teach in art lessons with students has also been a true delight. Contributing to marine life conservation efforts with art has now become part of my passion.
