Juxtaposed Coloured Squares Painting

In this painting I have arranged and overlaid many colours onto the canvas. Some colours are transparent, some semi opaque and some completely opaque. Some are applied straight from the tube and some are mixed with other colours. Some shapes precise others less precise. There is no external subject matter influence to this work; just intuitive placement of colour and shape as a response to whatever has gone previously onto the canvas. I find this process very meditative and positive but also very demanding as the evolving painting requires time for reflection, re-evaluation and resolution. I enjoy painting this way. I photograph all paintings in my studio, which benefits from a transparent roof and a north light, making the photographed colours as accurate as is possible with a digital camera. I also try to photograph on cloudy days again for consistency and accuracy of colour. All paintings are finished to the back edge on gallery wrapped canvas. All paintings are signed. A Certificate of Authenticity is supplied. I hope you like the painting.
