Keeper of the book inspired during a visit to Kew palace within Kew gardens(London), on that sunny day last summer while walking towards the entrance of the old kitchen through the kitchen garden I noticed a cat standing by some tumbled down tomato plants, with such a determined look of purposefulness about him, this intrigue set my mind in motion, when I eventually entered into the atmospheric green room within the palace, I noticed an old open ledger lain on the desk I imagined the ledger to be that of the Egyptian book of the dead and the cat from the kitchen garden now astride the pages to be the keeper of the book, in charge of the weighing of the feather and the heart in judgement, the room starts to fade into night revealing the stars of Orion’s belt, such a noble task for this little soul! a story from a mind daydreaming depicted in this painting,

ARTIST STATEMENT I am an artist based in Marlow uk who has accumulated a number of works over the years in the main I have been driven by an inherent need to create, my view on the world is largely in the surreal narrative, I constantly struggle to make sense of the real world and I am of the belief that human perception is constructed in our minds rather than recorded, based on the bias of thoughts emotions and beliefs which go’s some way in explaining why there are so many points of view on the same situation or subject, my aim is just to jolt the viewer to express my view point on ideas within my chosen medium of oil on canvas, just that, this passion has remained within me all my life it has driven me to create, I believe there is a commercial value in my works within the right venue and would ask the attached be considered, for inclusion in your gallery its all about the impact of the image in the first instance ,if they are of interest please let me know for further discussion.
