About The Artwork
There are two ways we humans grow and expand. One way is Kensho which is growth by pain, and the other way we can grow is through Satori which is growth by awakening. Unfortunately the Satori moments are rare and the majority of us grow through Kensho which is pain. In this painting I was trying to illustrate that Kensho moment through a scream. The scream of growth with butterflies that symbolise metamorphosis, evolvement and moving forward.

Adela is a visual artist and illustrator born in Romania where she studied art from a young age. In 2002 she moved to Canada where she lived for 9 years and studied Multimedia Design and Visual Studies. Presently, Adela lives in Spain and explores figurative art with oils as her medium of choice. She is creating portraits that focus on expressions, adding a hint of the feelings and soul behind the mask that is our face. She is continuously experimenting and finding ways to combine the traditional figurative realism with contemporary elements.
