This is both cathartic and a humorous release of anger. It is an intensely personal expression.The painting goes with the East Village Landlord as a story piece. As someone who has always prided herself in independence and working hard, raising my sons and paying my way... I am responding to someone who traded their independence for money, and chose to live off of men. Again, my shadowy characters appear in the background of an urban landscape.
