About The Artwork

There is a moment in the life of each of us when the soul, like a bird, touches the sun and... Either it is burned by the rays, or it is filled with new forces and shines with new bright colors from the touch. This story was drawn by me in the painting "Kingfisher on a lotus stalk". This bright little bird lives in 4 elements and has been very revered since the days of pre-Buddhist China. The kingfisher hunts in the water, flies in the air, builds nests on the ground. According to one legend, his bright plumage was obtained by him after flying to the Sun and touching its fire. These 2 elements of mythology – the Lotus and the Kingfisher, are among the oldest symbols of China. They represent beauty, courage and spiritual purity. The painting is painted on rice paper "Cicada Wings" with mineral paints and ink in the Gongbi technique, then it is rolled on a dense base. The painting is surrounded by a passepartout and framed in a beautiful Italian wooden frame. It is possible to buy without a frame in a roll. On request.
