ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I was inspired in the ancient technique of kintsugi to do this artwork. I think it is interesting how in ceramic pieces are repaired with gold in kintsugi. They are not the same as they were in the beginning, they are different because they suffered, they were broken, they have been destroyed, but someone repaired them with gold and they can be useful again and they gained a new beauty too. I think it is a good metaphor about how people can be broken but can be repaired and beautiful again with their scars. My biggest scar is what I have suffered in my career and I represented it in this artwork. Artwork exhibited in Exposición Internacional “Broken mirrors”. Milostka Center for Exhibitions, Culturally Arts Collective, Texas, Estados Unidos, 10 de junio al 22 de Julio de 2022.
