About The Artwork

My asian education as adopted child in France was more like Chinese and Japanese style than Korean. At that time, the adopting parents weren't aware of Korean culture. They were also said to cut all the roots with the child motherland' culture for a "better integration". The series "Koreaneries" are a mix between Japanese style, Chinoiseries and a late Korean culture. Jardin des Morts comes, "The Garden of the dead" as its title said is the place where I place my thoughts for my dead relatives. The butterflies, the dragonflies, the Chrysanthemums, the Higanbana, all the symbols of death in western and eastern culture.
