Kya-Kya Chinatown is one of the famous Chinatowns in Indonesia. Located in Surabaya, the capital of the East Java province, this Chinatown was established on a 750-meters long and 20 meters wide road full of hundreds of food and beverage stalls. ‘Kya-kya’ means hanging out or sightseeing in Hokkien (one of the Chinese dialects). This Chinatown is not only a foodie’s avenue but is also a great place to witness live entertainment as well such as lion dance and live music performance. Also, sometimes there are exhibition stages and promotional spaces set up to cater to the thriving artists. This area is full of traditions, both local and Chinese, which eventually will satisfy its visitors. Through this artwork, I want to bring a vibrant, cheerful, and dynamic atmosphere to your home. This work was done with acrylic on canvas since it does not take too long to dry it up. With a touch of Picasso's cubism, I added up my own art style into it. It has a smooth physical texture and is equipped with a high-quality frame as well as a hanging hardware.

Indonesia
I was born in Indonesia on June 20th, 1966, as the youngest son among four children of my parents. I was raised in a small town called Mojokerto, and till now I still dwell in the same town with my own family. My works are influenced by Pablo Picasso and my draw inspirations come from my background as a Chinese Indonesian. I incorporate an Indonesian traditional art element called batik and Chinese element into my works, forming my own style of art. The technique I use is just basic techniques for cubism, but I also added a traditional batik element to fill the empty spaces. Mostly, I love doing acrylic on canvas because it does not need a long time to dry up.
