About The Artwork

'Lacquer Series and Processes' For several years Anna Beller has been inspired by abstract expressionist artists such as Helen Frankenthaler (1928-2011, USA) and Morris Louis (1912-1962, USA) who experimented with large soak stain paintings on raw canvas. As in their processes, Anna's paintings' background stays in pure white, untouched - leaving enough space for the color expression. The minimalist lacquer series is a balancing act between mechanical repetition and natural color flow which creates the finest details. Several lacquer series have been exhibited in group shows by 'Expanded Art' in Berlin (2023), 'Verse' (digitally, 2023) and 'Vertical' in London (2023) and a 'Lichtschutzbunker' group show, Hanover (2024) and have been acquired amongst others by the 'Anne + Michael Spalter Digital Art Collection'. Anna Beller is on a continuos search for new materials and media, since 2022 she is selling digital and physical art 'on chain' (Blockchain) and has been diving into (digital and physical) generative art: She is working in processes and series, following logical rules but the exact output of the individual artwork can be surprising.

Anna Beller is an experimental painter and digital artist from Berlin working in Hannover. She experiments with color relationships and transparencies in different painting techniques. Her 'Lacquer Studies' balance between mechanical repetition and natural color flow and got acquired by the 'Anne + Michael Spalter Digital Art collection' and exhibited by 'Verse', 'Expanded Art' and 'VERTICAL'. In combination with her architectural background Anna is following a minimalist digital art route, recently adding a pen-plotter to find an experimental symbiosis between human and automatic art expression.
