About The Artwork

As an abstract painter, I have a deep sense of awareness when it comes to the impact that our choices can have on the world around us. One object that has always stood out to me as a symbol of destruction is the cigarette. It is a product that has been programmed to kill without remorse, and it leaves a trail of devastation in its wake. In my abstract paintings, I strive to convey the sense of danger and destruction that is associated with the cigarette. The swirling shapes and bold colors that I use are a reflection of the chaos and confusion that often accompanies addiction. Each stroke of the brush is like a warning sign, a reminder of the dangers that we face when we engage in destructive behaviors. Through my art, I hope to raise awareness of the toll that smoking takes on individuals and society as a whole. I want to encourage people to think about their choices and to consider the impact that their actions may have on the world around them. In this way, my abstract paintings serve as a call to action, urging people to take responsibility for their health and well-being. As an abstract painter, I am constantly exploring new ways to convey my message through my art. The cigarette is just one example of the many symbols that I used to represent the forces of destruction in our world. Through my work, I hope to inspire people to think critically about the choices they make and to take action to create a better, more sustainable future. Regenerate response

Meet Patricia Arseneau, also known as Patya, an emerging self-taught painter and multidisciplinary artist from the Îles-de-la-Madeleine who now resides in Saint-Joachim-de-Montmorency in Quebec, Canada. Patya spent her childhood outside of the regular school system, which she now sees as a creative force that she channels through her art. She is an artist who creates with her intuition and is always curious to develop her knowledge. Her journey to becoming an artist has been a unique one, and she has carved her own path. Abstraction began for her in 2015 when she realized an old dream she had cherished for a long time: to try painting. Patya is definitely self-taught and autonomous in her learning, specializing in abstract art from the start. She uses acrylic and collages on canvas, paper, or wood supports and loves to handle ink on paper. She works with spatula brushes on small and large formats, using everything that falls into her hands because she first searches for marks and different traces to give life to her vision of the unexpected and her spontaneity. Patya explores again and again, jumping from darkness to light, from sadness to joy, from madness to wisdom, without judgment or censorship. She lets herself be guided by her interiority and does not want to take control because she wants the mystery to become her stimulus. With her feet on the ground and her mind in the clouds, Patya has a great ability to face the unknown and let her emotions become her automatism in front of her canvas. Patya has exhibited her works to the public, showcasing her art at Studio 17 Rue de la Barricade with a group of artists in Quebec City in 2016. She has also exhibited three times at the Alfred-Pellan gallery in a collective exposition in Quebec City in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Patya wants to be on social networks to share her work with as many people as possible. She has sold her works to private collectors across Quebec and Ontario. Patya's inspirations come from some of the masters of the art world, including Pablo Picasso, Cy Twombly, Joan Miro, Jackson Pollock, Paul Émile Borduas, and Jean Paul Riopelle. As for the future, Patya wishes to perfect her creativity by crossing her own borders, just as if she were visiting something inviting and intriguing. She is an artist who creates without limits, using her art to express her innermost thoughts and emotions, and to share her unique perspective with the world.
