La lavandaia Painting

The painting is the third work in a series of 50 works dedicated to the hermetic symbolism of Atalanta Fugiens, a seventeenth-century work by the doctor and philosopher Michael Mayer. In this painting we can observe some symbolic elements such as a pelican washing a piece of black material with its beak, a woman washing clothes in hot water and a wooden mannequin being washed with cold water. The painting contains hidden meanings that the observer, through critical visual analysis, will have to understand in order to ensure that his own thought can become the bearer of new cognitive inputs acting in the depths of his own personality. The painting was made with the classic oil on canvas technique as in the old workshops using numerous layers of colour.
