(ARTWORK FOR SALE AVAILABLE AT ARTSPACE WAREHOUSE , LOS ANGELES) I look at this picture and I start to think: these people are rich, white, often arrogant and they are different from the rest of so called “average British people”. These people are so fortunate to ignore how much is a pint of milk, or how much is a ticket fare from Brixton to Seven Sisters. I am trying to visualize some ridiculously represented in their old “white only” style with their college uniforms… these uniforms mean something more to remember, something that take the entire country to a kind of old establishment, where rich kids go to school and poor kids are blamed to be poor, a good reason to lock them up in their ugly blocks called council flats and eventually in state fortified buildings called prisons or penitentiary Can few people carelessly rule an entire system of economy, politics and society? The answer is yes, unfortunately. There is an elite of white guys that are pretending to represent the entire nation in the United Kingdom. Regardless there are millions of people with African and Asian origins in this country, I can’t see more than a couple of non-white political representatives, sometimes appearing in television to tell us the same lame, boring story. These people in the picture are special people: they don’t care too much about economy, politics, society. People like these are above society, above rules, above humanity. They are Society themselves and they use normal people like us to create fake mirrors, they need normal people as vector to camouflage themselves within ordinary reality. The fact is that they need us but we don’t need them. Anything seems going ahead while everything is merely stepping backward. Welcome back to the (not so) Good Old England F.C. I don’t have a real artistic statement at this point of my career. To be honest, I make art to manifest my intellectual reaction to the daily reality. Each artwork is an independent statement about this contemporary culture, a magnificent mix of glossy ignorance and sophisticated forms of borderline fascist economy. I ask myself how to cope with this world. True artists should live dangerously because, while Art business is getting obese, artists on the other hand are barely surviving in it.
