La pie avare Painting

Et si je peignais les 7 péchés capitaux… C’est l’idée qui me trottait dans la tête depuis maintenant bien longtemps. Mais comment pourrais-je m’approprier ce sujet en gardant de la légèreté et surtout en étant un peu originale dans mes créations ? J’ai donc pensé qu'il serait sympa de trouver, pour chacun des péchés, l’animal qui, à mes yeux, serait le plus adapté pour devenir l'effigie de la paresse, l'orgueil, la colère, l’avarice, la luxure, l’envie ou bien encore la gourmandise. Pour moi l’avarice, c’est l’attachement excessif à l’argent, aux richesses ou à toutes autres possessions. Ainsi j'associe l’avarice à l’argent, aux pièces de monnaie, soit en d'autres termes à tout ce qui brille. Et de quel animal dit-on qu’il est très attiré par tout ce qui brille ? La pie bien sûr. And if I painted the seven deadly sins… This is the idea that has been in my head for a long time now. But how could I appropriate this subject by keeping lightness and especially by being a bit original in my creations? So I thought it would be nice to find, for each of the sins, the animal that, in my eyes, would be the most suitable to become the effigy of laziness, pride, anger, avarice, lust, envy or even gluttony. For me, greed is the excessive attachment to money, wealth or any other possessions. So I associate avarice with money, coins, or in other words, anything that glitters, and what animal is said to be very attracted to anything that glitters? The magpie of course.
