Saw a photograph of this image and just wanted to paint this subject.it is an everyday sight where construction of new buildings takes place. These people usually work from site to site and are very hardworking. Their kids play around the site and usually they work in teams. Their clothes are very colourful though they might be old or messed. The colours in this painting are catchy and I hope we can relate to these women as they are very hardworking and it's because of them that we have a beautiful home.

I am Maya Wakankar, age 53, living in Pune , Maharashtra,India. I have been born and brought up in Pune, known as the education hub of India. I have graduated in Hotel Management .Since i had an inclination in painting from childhood, i have taken it up as a hobby. I paint in water colours and acrylics and have been doing so for the past 8 years. My subjects vary and I usually paint what i like or see around me.
