About The Artwork
My work invites the viewer to consider custodianship of our natural world. There is much to learn from First Nations peoples, their sustainable land management and deep spiritual connection to country. Connection to ‘spirit of place’ is a strong feature in my work. The Blue Mountains is one such place where I tap into that sense of ‘belonging to land’ and being part of the landscape. By investigating and acknowledging the natural and human histories of landscape, I hope to bring about a genuine desire to protect and nurture our natural environment and all who call it home.
