About The Artwork

The full title of this painting is: LAUNDRY MAYHEM! THE DAY THE HOT CYCLE KILLED YOUR SWEATERS. YET, LIFE GOES ON. I think for once the title is quite self explanatory. This is obviously inspired by a real life event. I would like to point out, though, that the painting is portraying the exact moment when the tragedy occurred. Notice the circular motion-like composition and the blue surrounding the textures and the patterns. This is obviously how the inside of the washing machine looks like once the water gets in and the cycle starts.

Angela Navarro is an artist based in Seattle, Washington. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos in Valencia, Spain. During different periods in her life, either studying or working, Angela has lived in Spain, Portugal, Germany and the UK. She has created her signature style from her passion for patterns, architecture, graphic design and color. Over the years she has created symbolic language of gestures and shapes that she uses as narrative tools inside her paintings. Her paintings are based on stories that appear visualized in her head, based on the daily and the mundane. Angela turns the uneventful experiences of life into exciting abstract landscapes and portraits.
