This Original acrylic painting is inspired by the mountains in the Quebec Laurentian's and the crisp blue skies of fall. This is a wonderful area where you can cycle along the river or go hiking in the mountains. That is where the artist has an intimate contact with nature. The artist is interested in exploring different paint application techniques to create visual depth and interest. A simple subject is used to explore interesting techniques. The overlay of colorful paint in small dots is inspired by the French pointillism movement that was led by Seurat. It is a wonderful technique to create rhythm and interest in an otherwise flat subject.

Fine Artist passionate about the patterns found in nature, the peacefulness of the forest and the magic of colors and light. I aim to challenge myself creatively and technically with acrylic paint and mixed media. I don't believe in repeating formulas but in exploring a subject with different angles and applications. Each one of my paintings is an original. http://www.moncion-fine-art.com
