Le bleu de la nuit, c’est le contraire de l’agonie de la clarté, mais c’est aussi son avertissement. (Joan Didion) Wietzie is inspired by nature and poetry, and she paint the world as she sees it- imperfect and in constant change. She creates her work through a unique technique of vigorous knife strokes that creates a textured and layered surface full of impasto markings. She uses sweeping thick movements of paint in a dynamic spontaneous manner . The flowerscape has a dreamy and romantic quality. Soft shades of blue and grey form a background for impasto flowers in shades of white and grey. Ultramarine blue and paynes grey touches completes the imaginary composition.
