About The Artwork

Not available The Saint-Laurent River located in Quebec represents a great source of inspiration for the artist. Nérée Beauchemin describes the origin of this majestic river in this poetic extract "" Since the stormy age of the first dawns, Where a whole sky rained on a dawning world, Followed by an infinite procession of rivers, At sea, in full channel , in triumph, he descends. Superb, delivered from the savage darkness And from the enchantments of the black Spirits of evil, He proclaims to the new suns of his shores His noble name… ”(1928, p.45-47) The artist immortalizes this holiday memory in this semi-abstract landscape. The observer can discover there light, depth and texture. Blue, turquoise and ocher are the dominant colors of this painting. Born in 1963 in Trois-Rivières in the province of Quebec Canada, Nicole Caron is an emerging and self-taught painter. Her representation of light, Quebec landscapes and flowers is a source of inspiration. From a very young age, she did not hesitate to ask her mother who painted for pleasure "Please, you want to paint a pot of flowers? " Nicole Caron's semi-figurative paintings are rich in light, density and texture. These are created only with spatula and oil. When one observes his works, one finds in particular colors of earth, ocher, gray of payne animated by energetic movements. Through her paintings, Nicole Caron wants to offer light, clarity, spontaneity and above all a lot of energy. The observations of nature are continually represented and repainted in the artist's mind. What the artist wants is to offer observers of his paintings his vision of the beauty of flowers, landscapes and abstract art integrated with a composition of unique colors. Inspired by Armand Tatossian, Riopelle, Borduas, Nicole Caron wishes to pursue an artistic approach, a style and a signature that are unique to her.
