Lenta Markevich, born in 1983, is an independent artist who currently resides and works in Prague, Czechia. Originally from Russia, she was raised in Central Asia before relocating to Czechia nearly two decades ago. This combination of geographic and cultural influences has significantly shaped her artistic expression. Her works have found a place in private collections across various countries, including Czechia, Germany, France, Spain, China, India, Japan, the UK, and the USA. Lenta is an artist who is going for self-expression and exploring the evolution of the self. Her art serves as a dialogue between a middle-aged woman and herself, reflecting on her emotional experiences from the past and her present feelings. Throughout her creative process, Lenta embarks on a journey of self-discovery, gradually finding her voice and deciphering the signals arising from her inner conflicts of the past. She wants her art to evoke memories, to recall emotions. Lenta finds inspiring freedom in creating something beautiful out of nothing, constantly exploring and experimenting with colors and different artistic tools. She incorporates many different styles, media, and techniques such as acrylics, oils, ink, sand, and sewing. For Lenta, art represents the acceptance of the freedom of emotional diversity. It provides a platform to express individual perceptions of the world, shaped by countless perspectives and conventions.
