ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I always liked the idea of a mermaid sitting down at a dining table. The starting point of the composition was Vetriano's "Table For One". However, a beach location suited the shadows on my model better. Everything else grew in a surreal way. I prefered the erotic possibileties of her serpent like tail begining with seahorse stocking tops. The traditional waist tail seemed too safe. It is up to the viewer to decide what is going on .... will she eat the lobster or is she about to complain? There are many unanswered questions. Have fun. The starting Oil on hardboard.
