Let me explain Painting

The underpainting is action painting executed with a spray bottle, hands and fingers. The subject is the longing for another persons touch and for an honest and open conversation. The ochre and purple-grey are in acrylic paint, not layered, they are painted in juxtaposition side by side. They constitute stage one, the underpainting. The second stage, the hand gestures are painted in oil paint, photographically. I think of them as of aborted gestures, and given-up communication. The painting was created during the Covid-19 isolation of the painter. Complementary contrast between yellow and purple; the black-white-grey of the hands negotiates between them.
