About The Artwork

The story: This piece developed by chance. The superimposed canvas panel was originally created as a painting which just didn't look finished to me. That gave me the idea to rework it and transform it into a collage painting incorporating pieces from my acrylic skin collection. The result is a rather surreal scene of my imagination created impromptu. This piece needed something else but a frame wasn't it. The background canvas (originally a pour) was an interesting solution. This piece is very well constructed, utilizing mediums and gels to secure the artwork and is varnished as finish. A mixture of darker muted colors, transparencies and metallics brought to life through colorful brighter highlights led to really nice contrast. Painted areas extend to all sides. Ready to hang. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions,.

Known as ▸ Art_by_Kela Born and raised in Germany Studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Bachelor of Fine Arts Mixed Media, painting, photography and digital art NFT creator since 12.2021 with collection @withFoundation Kela explains, “A constant aspect of my creative process is exploring new possibilities and pushing boundaries. My works are intuitive manifestations of the subconscious and are testament of my creative journey, who I am as a human being and artist and how I view the world around me; with the ultimate goal to inspire and provoke the imagination!” Consistent characteristics of her paintings are her love for rich texture and how she mixes color to achieve a wide range of minuscule tonal differences, tints and shades. Bold color contrasts with a tendency toward darker themes are more apparent in her digital work, influenced by art movements including Abstract, Surrealism and Contemporary. She now lives and works in Memphis, TN
