About The Artwork

This work is inspired by Sumerian Mythology. The Goddess Inanna was the queen of heaven and earth then inexplicably she descended to the underworld and was stripped of all her power. She finally emerged to resume her throne. This represents the ordeals suffered by women in life, and their resilience. The 20 canvas squares make up the painting, I have used collage and heavy textured layers of acrylic paint.
