Lily Bouquet in Tiger Vase Painting

This is a cylindrical vase of flowers featuring lilies, and leaves painted in a sweet little black, orange and blue tiger printed vase with a deep emerald green background. The colors in reality are probably slightly deeper, richer and more saturated than in my images of the piece. There are subtle green tones in the white tablecloth too, reflecting the emerald of the wall in the background. The brush strokes are very textured and quite noticeable on the background and throughout the piece. I painted this portrait of a big bunch of lilies that my husband bought this week, I love to paint portraits of gifts, sort of immortalizing them. These started out as quiet little white buds and then, day after day they exploded open, revealing these delightfully flashy deep pink striped petals. It is painted on cradled wood board and can be hung as is or framed to the eventual buyer's liking. This was painted as an experiment, I wanted to watch the blossoms open, paint them and upload the resulting painting to Saatchi in a single day, and ta daaaa!
