Artist Christopher Turner was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 20th, 1984. His incredible talent was discovered by his mother at an early age, when he began drawing before entering grade school. Soon he was tested and enrolled in the Talented Arts Program, in the East Baton Rouge School System. During his six years in the program, he was mentored by a local professional artist and fine-tuned his God given skills. Turner was unable to attend college, due to his grandmother’s battle with cancer, so he started working in the trucking industry. This career lasted five years. During this time he fell in love and decided to get married. As an engagement present his wife purchased art supplies which reawakened his creativity and led to this historic journey. His studio work, as well his performance art pieces are now highly sought after by collectors and art aficionados. He has had numerous gallery exhibitions and is well-known, nationwide, for creating ‘Live’ art at concert venues, fairs, festivals and sports stadiums. Turner’s choice of medium is acrylic paint on a variety of surfaces, which add depth and texture to each original piece. He enjoys taking his art to the people and feeding off their energy. He has painted ‘Live’ with R& B singer Chrisette Michele, Grammy nominees Mint Condition and Maroon 5’s keyboardist PJ Morton, among others. Recently he began showcasing his unique talents at Louisiana sporting events. He was the “Official Performance Artist” for the 2011 State Farm Bayou Classic, featured at an LSU Football Pre-game show and was center court for 2012’s NCAA “Final Four Friday,” in New Orleans. He became “Artist in Residence” at Springboard, as well as curator for the Kress Gallery in 2012. In 2014 he resigned from that position to focus more on his career. Since birth, Baton Rouge has been his home and Louisiana his muse. He is constantly inspired by its’ vibrant music, food and culture that continues to push his artistic creativity to new heights.
