About The Artwork

The painting (Living my life, flying my kite) is an acrylic on canvas abstract work that dwells on freedom. “Living my life, flying my kite”, all in my own world, just being free to do all I want to do. Living my life to reach beyond the sky and reach beyond my dreams and reality. It is all about freedom for me and everybody. Fundamental human right, universal commonwealth, all for freedom, joy and happiness, contentment and blissful grace is all I ask for me and my kind, the multitude: masses, which constitute the majority in this world. The work is a symbol of freedom, happiness and contentment. The shinning happy yellow and orange Sun despite the moody ambience of blue violet, violet, royal green. The figure exists in a joyful orange landscape, flying his kite of countless ideas without much ado. The crossroad of many parts is in front of him which is the mixed reality of life that man must contend with. Symbolic tree of life/growth and death that keeps getting shorter as it diminishes in the orange coloured landscape is right behind because life is short, art/act and action is longer because the memories lives on after us. Motifs in the unusually large kite and in the foreground are for aesthetics significance of the good and beautiful in our world as well as portray a happy-go-luck dude, who is just living his/her life.
