About The Artwork

The sunset cast a blue shadow over the snowy Rocky Mountains in Colorado to reveal Longs Peak in the background. The blue mountains are in the distance surrounded clouds that vibrate with contrasting colors pink, red, orange, yellow and blue that form abstract, windswept formations that are explosive and fluid. In the foreground is a lake with a group of ducks swimming. The layered brush strokes are loose and impressionistic, creating a mosaic of color and light. This cheerful, uplifting and awe-inspiring painting would look great in the entranceway a cabin or mountain home and invokes a dreamlike, serene viewing experience. “When you stand at the bottom of the mountain and look up at the mountaintop, the path looks hard and stony, and the top is obscured by clouds. But when you reach the top and you look down, you realize that there are a thousand paths that could have brought you to that place.” ― Roz Savage, Rowing the Atlantic: Lessons Learned on the Open Ocean

My paintings are an intricate weaving of the elements of Impressionist masters like Monet and Post-impressionist artist Van Gogh. Each piece inspired by the vastness, splendor and beauty of nature and the outdoors. Exemplifying the medium’s pure expressive potential to transform the visible world by creating movement using intense complementary colors and layered energetic brush strokes. I desire to create a pictorial symphony that immerses the viewer in a visually stimulating, playful and dreamlike viewing experience. Each landscape focuses on the philosophy to be transformed, uplifted and tap into the subconscious by conveying a sense of comfort for the mind to wander the horizon of the image, reflect and meditate. "I want the unobtainable. Other artists paint a bridge, a house, a boat, and that's the end. They are finished. I want to paint the air which surrounds the bridge, the house, the boat, the beauty of the air in which these objects are located, and that is nothing short of impossible." -Claude Monet “I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream.” -Vincent Van Gogh
